NOTICE TO TRAINERS
June 5, 2011 - PRESS RELEASE - Four Days in July...
May 25, 2011 - Reminder for race days - Trainers please have your horses in by 12:00pm (noon) in order to ease traffic flow on the backstretch and to have traffic in and out before horses begin to be lead over for the first race. Thank you.
May 21, 2011 - Please be advised that we only have one workout day next week – Thurs, May 26, from 2pm to 6pm. The big white barn is being dismantled during this week, and this is the only time there can be a work stoppage. We hope to return to regularly scheduled days in the follow week, but Track Management will advise about that at a later time
HEALTH ALERT - EHV-1 Outbreak (May 19, 2011)
APHA understands the recent outbreak of the Equine Herpesvirus (EHV-1) has caused considerable concern among horse owners across the country. As it is of utmost importance to provide information and resources to aid our members in making informed decisions APHA has created a new „Health Update‰ website resource. This area contains a variety of reference documents, a current list of APHA sanctioned shows and events which have been cancelled or postponed, as well as a resource list with U.S. State animal health organization contacts and a Canadian reference.
APHA advises members to become familiar with the symptoms of EHV-1 and rigorously monitor their horses‚ health. Should any symptoms occur it is strongly advised to contact a veterinarian immediately.

May 12, 2011 - Please be advised that we are working on our next series of Training Days for May & June, but that we will not be training on Mon, May 23 (Victoria Day weekend). Please make your arrangements accordingly.
After our first race day, we would like to remind all licensed personnel that crossing the infield is prohibited. Doing so will result in a fine.
Rings have been installed in all stalls for water buckets and for tying horses (we hope to add a further ring in each stall, so that Trainers can decide where they wish to tie in the stall). Please do not tie horses to the metal bars around the stall. They are not made for such use. Any damaged resulted from tying in this format will result in the Trainer being invoiced for repairs.
Lastly, stalls will be allocated on both Training and Workout days on a first come, first serve basis, to help with traffic flow.
ENVIRONMENTAL SURCHARGE
The building of the new ship in barns with the rubber matted floors now requires that bedding must be used by Horsemen when their horse is occupying a stall. The only allowable bedding currently at Ajax Downs is shavings. Horsemen are responsible for disposal of their waste bedding in an approved manner. All waste must be placed in the common disposal bins provided by Ajax Downs. To be clear, the Horsemen are responsible for the cleaning of their stalls and for the placing of all manure in such disposal bins. CLICK FOR COMPLETE NOTICE
FLIPPING HALTERS
Any horses wishing to run on a Flipping Halter, either new or returning, must declare this every time. Keep in mind, that horses must be approved by Starter before being allowed to use a rig. Unknown horses can be refused if not having prior approval.
LASIX PROGRAM
Ajax Downs has received official approval for a Lasix program. Please send your forms to the Stewards or ORC to register and don't forget to indicate "L1" (for horses running for the first time) or "L" on your Entry Form
